Indian touch

If you never paid attention to beauty hacks from India; these ancient skincare routines inspired by the natural goodness of home ingredients, will restore your skin with the tenderness of yesteryear.

Coconut and almond oil

Handed down from generations as nourishment for healthy manes, coconut and almond oils are natural moisturisers for the skin too. Antioxidants in the oils strengthen epidermal tissue and remove dead skin and makeup residue.

Rose and aloe vera

Ancient Indians believed rose and aloe reversed sunburn and wrinkles. Boil rose petals in a cup of water and add this to a bowl of mashed aloe vera. Apply and leave to dry.

Turmeric has always been an important home remedy known for its soothing properties. Blend a teaspoon of turmeric and honey with little water. Massage gently on the skin to lighten pigmentation and prevent breakouts.

Clay cure

Rejuvenate your skin and restore faith in olden times with clay. Dilute two tablespoons of fuller’s earth or ‘multani mitti’ and lemon juice with some water. Apply on the skin and leave it to dry.

Tomato and sugar

The secret here lies with the tomato juice which reduces large pores whilst sugar naturally exfoliates. Rub a sugar crusted slice of tomato on your skin and let its juice dry out.
